People from across the Falmouth-Gwennal circuit and beyond gathered at Carharrack Methodist Chapel on 23rd February for the last service before the Chapel closed.
The service was led by Rev’d Morwenna Lawson-Willa and Rev’d Jonathan Froggatt who gave the sermon. Musical accompaniment was provided by Revive and organist Nigel.
Following the welcome from Mo, Michelle read a poem entitled “Celebrate the moment.” Mo led the prayers.

The opening hymn “Sweet is the work my God, my King” was chosen by Joan and Gerald, the longest serving members of the Chapel.
Following this Linda TR recalled some light-hearted memories, and reflected on the impact those no longer with us have left in our lives.
Past and present members took part in the service. Those associated with the Sunday school sang three items, the age range being from six to ninety years. Zoe later spoke of her memories from her Sunday School days.
Alison, Jo and Marilyn reformed their trio “Discovery” for the afternoon, singing “Operator.” Jill shared a poem, written by her sister.
Cheryl down for the day from London, and Michelle read from Isaiah and Ephesians on which the sermon was based.
Following the sermon Jonathan presented long service certificates to local preachers Lucille, (25 years) and Paul (50 years.)
Pastor Jenny gave her tribute followed by the closing prayers
The final hymn chosen in memory of our late organist Lilian was “Guide me o Thou Great Jehovah” which could be heard from the outside of the building.

The afternoon ended with “Sunday tea” style refreshments while a “loop” of photographs from across the years played.
